Re-linking Document doesn’t change XML internally -Infopath

Question

I have 5000 + documents in sharepoint Docuemnt library. I see few records are linked to old template (infopath), due to which i could not open records.

 

I tried to relink them with correct template from Library settings--> relink document. But some how it is changing only externally but href in the xml internally(when downloaded and opened in notepad) is not changing instead it showing old template URL only, hence i could not open the records.

 

Can any suggest what is the solution for this issue?
