Reagarding storage of image data in sql3

Question

hi all i am a new bie in c# i have little programming experinece i grabebd this boook head first c#

in first chapter they created a contact list (it stores conatcts as in our phone book() using windows form (c#)
the data base has been added from within visual studio (add new item -> server based database)
all runs well n it works flawless..
what i want is to add pictures along with each contact deatails. 
can it be done or do i need to create proper database in  sql server n link my windows form to it. 
please explain. all help appreciated.
