Question on VB .Net

Question

i'm developing a software for antenna receiver system. the software will control the movemennt of the antenna and also process the data (signal) it receives from the antenna. the signal is converted to data using a data acquisition. my lecturer suggest that i'm using VB. Net but after sometime i confuse if this is the right software that i needed. first of all, i thanks a lot of your help.....
