Question for Ricardo Federico Villafañes
Oct 26 2005 10:23 PM
I would like to formally thank you for your work in xbase Engine for C# and VB.Net.
This helped me learn about dbf header formats.
There is only one problem I encountered. I could not open the generated dbf file
in Microsoft Excel 2003.
Is this possible?
Because I created a dbf file from Visual Foxpro and opened it in Excel. It opened.
While the generated dbf file could not be opened in Excel but could be opened
in Visual Foxpro 9.
I noticed that the first byte is chr(9) in dbf files created in Excel.
I tried changing the first byte to chr(9) but still, it does not open.
Why is this possible?
Thanks,
Solomio S. Sisante
