query a database

Question

hi all,

i'm a totally beginner, and i want to know uregntly, how to make a query for a database where i can make a textbox where the user enters the query keyword, (i mean how to let the user enter the criterion in the SQL statement , SELECT .... FROM.... WHERE ( criterion)    )
