Problem: Oracle LONG column field with table join
May 22 2005 3:44 AM
Hello, I have two tables in Oracle 9i which I am trying to query with a table join, and I am experiencing some problem with one of the column which is type long. The problem is that if I query with a join e.g. assume t1.activity is type long and the query string is select t1.activity from table1 t1, table2 t2, where t1.id=t2.id; I will only get 100 chars or so back from this query, while the full value is about 1000 char long. However, if I do select t1.activity from table1 t1 where t1.id=x; I will get the full 1000 char long value back. Is there a way around this? I will have to make a lot of separate queries if the join doesn't work. p.s. using dataset.fill ( ) to through dataAdapter to get my values. using oracle ole db driver. thank you in advance for any feedback. -Ed
