Pre tag

The HTML PRE tag does not work in messages posted in these forums. It works in IE 8 but when I copy and paste the HTML into a message for a forum here, the text loses formatting. The explicit purpose of the PRE tag is that it leaves text the way it is, espcially line breaks. Posting code here is extra work, since we must add BR tags at the end of each line, but that would not be necessary if the PRE tags worked as they should.

The only problem with PRE tags is tabs. The MSDN forums has or at least did have a problem with tabs in the sense that tabs are (were) converted to spaces. If this forum software provided a fix for that too (along with fixing the problem with PRE) then that would be a big improvement.
