Pls. help me create control at runtime
Sep 6 2004 10:45 PM
I'm just a beginner and i want to design a simple windows application that can create control during runtime. I have this simple code here that can add a label control during runtime. When i click the button its ok the label as added and shown in the form but the second time i click the button the label is created but it won't display on the form. Can you help me solve this problem? And I also want to know how to create the Method that creates control in another class. using System; using System.Drawing; using System.Collections; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Windows.Forms; using System.Data; namespace DynamicControls { ///
/// Summary description for Form1. ///
public class Form1 : System.Windows.Forms.Form { private System.Windows.Forms.Button button1; private int xloc; private int yloc; private int iTabIndex; private string strName; private int lblNum; ///
/// Required designer variable. ///
private System.ComponentModel.Container components = null; public Form1() { // // Required for Windows Form Designer support // InitializeComponent(); // // TODO: Add any constructor code after InitializeComponent call // xloc = 48; yloc = 8; iTabIndex = 1; strName = "Label"; lblNum = 1; } ///
/// Clean up any resources being used. ///
protected override void Dispose( bool disposing ) { if( disposing ) { if (components != null) { components.Dispose(); } } base.Dispose( disposing ); } #region Windows Form Designer generated code ///
/// Required method for Designer support - do not modify /// the contents of this method with the code editor. ///
private void InitializeComponent() { this.button1 = new System.Windows.Forms.Button(); this.SuspendLayout(); // // button1 // this.button1.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(16, 312); this.button1.Name = "button1"; this.button1.TabIndex = 0; this.button1.Text = "Add"; this.button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click); // // Form1 // this.AutoScaleBaseSize = new System.Drawing.Size(5, 13); this.ClientSize = new System.Drawing.Size(292, 341); this.Controls.Add(this.button1); this.Name = "Form1"; this.Text = "Form1"; this.ResumeLayout(false); } #endregion ///
/// The main entry point for the application. ///
[STAThread] static void Main() { Application.Run(new Form1()); } private void button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { CreateNewLabel(); } public void CreateNewLabel() { System.Windows.Forms.Label lblTemp = new System.Windows.Forms.Label(); lblTemp.Location = new System.Drawing.Point(xloc,yloc); lblTemp.Name = strName + lblNum.ToString(); lblTemp.TabIndex = iTabIndex; lblTemp.Text = strName + lblNum.ToString(); Controls.Add(lblTemp); if(lblTemp.Created) MessageBox.Show("Label Created!!!"); else MessageBox.Show("Label not Created!!!"); iTabIndex++; lblNum++; yloc = yloc + 10; xloc = xloc + 10; } } }
