Peoplesoft Update

When I call the peoplesoft webservice I am able to fetch the data from Peoplesoft but I call back to update the data I get the following error message.
"Integration Broker Response2054Invalid item number. {%1} (91,54) PT_INTEGRATION.CIDefinition.OnExecute Name:invokeStandardFunction PCPC:7720 Statement:162\nCalled from:PT_INTEGRATION.CIDefinition.OnExecute Name:OnEvent Statement:36"
