I appreciate your interest in certifications. Additionally, Forums, Blogs etc. also us to gain more expertise through Sharing.

I would say you to proceed with Certifications! The so called employers/interviewers are not Thoughtful to see the Real Value of Certifications.

A certification provides direct advantages of:

Knowledge Value
Market Value

The knowledge gain will help you enjoy your work, reduce the chaos.. This is primary gain!

It is a sad truth that those Market Value seekers can use brain dumps for the exam & attain certification. (wherever value is, fakes will be attracted) We cannot go and stop them! But they will be CAUGHT by a mighty interviewer as he/she knows the subject.

A little bit caution I would like to add here is, some self-focused employers do not like Certifications as they may face Employee Turnover, so they discourage certifications giving different reasons!

Whenever i am on the interview board & see an SQL Server certified person, I would ask 'Are stored procedures pre-compiled, do they increases performance?' If they say Yes, then it means they have brain dumped it.. as the certification study book says about stored procedures are not-precompiled, simple queries as SP won't increase performance!

So i would say, Certification in the Right way will Fetch you More Knowledge & Satisfaction. Adding more certification will niche your quality & you will see yourself in good environment where honesty & hardwork are respected. In my case plus my friends, we are Certificate Lovers, we love the knowledge earned & this made us progress in career. I remember my MNC Manager (from Microsoft) short-listed my resume seeing Certifications. So value recognition is there - but from top quality players only! (that is what we wanted :))

Plus, spending money on certification is not a charity but a Responsibility. We are earning money through Career, so a small portion (5%) can be re-invested for further growths in future.

So focus knowledge, focus excellence & move higher. (do not listen to Amateurs as they do not know the Value of Quality & Honesty)

I am repeatedly calling them Amateurs as I have worked with such kind of people. Often in stock market we take advice from people around who are loosers, so they might have a wrong perspective. But in right sense, we have to take Advice from Real Winners of Market! (i am not a big winner though :))

Adding 2 MCTS Certification, followed by one MCPD will definitely increase your knowledge, market values. (Alternatively, i can ASSURE you that they won't decrease your value, so anything doesn't kill is good :))

I am very thank full to Sir Jean Paul for valuable advice on my query related to certification. I'll prepare myself for certification exam by self training kit, technical blogs and forum not by just reading dumps.
