modifying the createuserwizard control.

hi, this is my second question here. thanks for the help on the previous one.

now im in a bit of a dilemma whether i should implement ASP.net's built in user registration control (createuserwizard) versus creating my own registration form. the problem is i want to add extra criteria on the createuserwizard (already set up the table under aspnetdb.mdf which is aspnet_users for the extra fields) without adding a new createuserwizardstep ( i saw this on a tutorial, it doesnt suit my taste, i want one straight form to be filled up by the customer).

i did what you said, im pretty sure adding new fields on to the aspnet_Membership wouldnt automatically tell the createuserwizard control to insert the data from the new textboxes on to the new fields.

i can add new fields and new textboxes but it wont save the additional data as i didn't(i cant actually) modify the Insert statement bound to the create user button.

any additional help?

i have another question.

how do insert an explicit data as a primary key?

i have an error that states:

" Cannot insert explicit value for identity column in table 'Unit' when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF. '

i tried something similar to this:

new SqlCommand("SET IDENTITY_INSERT ON;INSERT INTO... ;SET IDENTITY_INSERT
OFF", ....);

on my insert statement but it comes up with a new error that says something is wrong near ON and OFF.
