How i start learn mobile application development and what is difference between web api and mobile applicaton

Disclaimer: What I state here is in my point of view. 1) How to learn? I suggest you to go for self study, ample of videos are available for Mobile technologies and its better than a real tutor. 2) WEB API & Mobile Application: Web API - Its a service [Rest - Type Service] when you hit the url in browser, it can give you some values in Json type, which will have all logic and access with database. Mobile Application: The UI which you can view from mobile, which will not have any database connection, it communicated through WEB API and fetch data and give you with colour look and feel. In my opinion, the future of Mobile programming lies in cross-platform technology, because this would reduce the required time and efforts for developing Mobile applications. As Vincent suggested, you can use Xamarin to develop cross-platform applications for mobiles. But since I am not that familiar with Xamarin, I am currently using a different tool from Intel called "Intel XDK"; this programming environment is based on HTML5/JavaScript programming, and it’s designed to create cross-platform apps. You can find more information about Intel XDK here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-xdk I mainly used Intel XDK in conjunction with leadtools functions to create simple image gallery for Android apps. If you know C# I would highly recommend you to explore on Xamarin to build cross-platform mobile apps. Alternatively, you could read this article: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/if-you-can-webdev-you-can-mobile/ You can't really compare them. Web API is a platformfor building RESTful apps specifically on the .NET framework. Mobile app on the other hand is simply an app that runs on the mobile. You can use Web API as your data controller service to pass and send information from your mobile app.
