Major lag when multiple developer working on same project

Question

my Visual Studio react so slow and have major lag(I can hardly select or move the mouse) when our team members try to work on the same project from same Network drive.  We edit our project from our own terminal.  Anyone have this problem also?  Is there a way to resolve this or how do you work on same project without having to delete each other's work when we copy and paste our part in.
