Maintaining data format

Question

I will be creating an input form to submit song lyrics to a database. The song lyrics should be formatted much like paragraphs. How could I insert this data into the database and maintain the original formatting of the paragraphs? Obviously it would have to retain the newline. For example:

Main verse lyrics go here
