Listbox items duplicating when form restored

Question

I have a form bound to SQL Server that displays a listbox with items from the database. The user can also add additional items to the listbox. The issue is when the form is minimized and then restored the item is added again to the listbox. If the record is saved it does not write the additional instance(s) to the database.

Any suggestions on how I can keep this from happening?
