is there any possibility to get text id

Question

my question is i want to update data in a panel which contains several text boxes i select distinct textbox id if that id is true then only the data is updated in database is it possiblee ?????????
like if(ispostback==true)
{
method();
}
that means if that statement is true then onlyy that method executes like this if my textbox id is equql to true then only my data is inserted
