Is sharepoint database is accesible by MVC application

There is an application developed in ASP.net now will be migrated on MVC. Client wants that the registration process should happen in sharepoint application and then the record stored in database should be accessible by MVC application. Is it possible to access Sharepoint database by other application ? How feasible it is ?

If this is possible kindly share the detail.
