i want to set the cookie on button click in java script

Question

i want set the cookie on one page on button click in java script and get next page load and check  that cookies is available or not if they are available then give the massage cookies is used or if they or not available then give the massage cookies is not available but their no use the query string or other  method  both page are rune differently
