How to use barcode reader in ado application?

Hai ,

   I am trying to integarate barcode reader to my application,by searching i came to know there is no code required for using barcode reader we just need to set focous on required textbox.Is this approach efficient or any other methods are there???

   Along with this i want to know how to increment the count of quantity (ex when two choclates had taken having same barcode then it display quantity as 2) through bar code reader.
