how to reload a div element in mvc

Question

how to reload a div element in mvc.so that it will not show me the prevous content of div .

my problem is that when my page is first loaded in mvc it will show me the list.But when i go to search it by todate on onchange event on todate it will overlap with the old content.the new list and old list both are in one page overlapping each other.
