How To Programmatically Modify Content Type Attributes??

Hi all,

I am currently attempting to programmatically modify the attributes eg. Title,  of a default content type <Document>  Which inherit from the content type <Item>. I would like to set Content Type's Title Column to Required instead of optional. How can i do that?
