how to preserve relationships in xml schema designer when importing from database
Aug 19 2008 6:43 PM
Hello,
This may not be posted in the correct category, but I didn't see a category for VS 2005 with .NET 2.0.
I added a new XML Schema item to my project using the VS template. It was a SQL Server database schema with about
170 tables. I'm looking at it now in the XML Schema designer, but I don't see that it's preserved any of the relationships between the tables. Is there a way to have the relationships automated upon import, or do I have to go in and somehow manually create all the relationships? Also, I need to create a new entity that is going to be a combination of many columns from many of the tables. I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to create this new entity as well. I am brand new to .NET and C# programming, but not to databases, so sorry if this is something basic that I'm just missing!
Thank you,
Laura
