how to maintain the page state across all the pages

Question

I want to maintain the selected state across all the pages,for Ex:   I have one webpage along with grid view(It contains some records along with checkboxes),when ever am checking any record then the show link should display,if am clicking on show then the same lable(show)should change as undo,till now I implemented,it's working fine

but if am selecting some records and clicking on show and am redirecting to some other page and am comming back to the same page then the selected records should display with in grid....which means I have to maintain the state across all the pages....so can any one help me how to do bcz thiz should happen with in the javascript function...I should not use any session.
