How to get starting in Software Devloping

I have interest in software development. I had complete B.Sc with Mathematics but I have not any certificate or any degree related to IT.
So what can I do for getting career in software industries. I dont want to spend 2 or 3 years for degree like MCA. So what can I do?
Is there any one year or half year certificate course for being as software professional after B.Sc with Maths?
I had create simple c# database application for customer billing. But no have deeply knowledge of programming. And after all degree or certificates are necessary to find a job in IT.
