how to display records in the gridview based on date selected in the calender control?

hi
suppose consider that a calender control is present in master page and gridview in one of the content page . now i want to get records from the database and display records in gridview control present in the content page .
whenever i select a particular date in the calender control it should fetch the records based from the database and display it on gridview based on the selected date of calender control
can anyone help me how to do this?
