how to create time slots just like facebook or linkedin

hello,
i want the code time slot.i mean,its like facebook or linkedin.where when you post anything on the wall it shows 1 min ago or 1 day ago from current time.how can i get this functinality.please give full code if possible.thanks in advance.ASAP
