How I can consume a BAPI from JavaScript?

Question

I am creating a custom SPFx application with React JS. This application will get the information about the current user who logged into SharePoint (I used the current user's email for this). I don't know much about SAP, but a partner told me that we can use a BAPI in SAP to get information. So I would call BAPI from JS by sending email parameter. Any ideas to do this? Or is there another way to develop this feature?. I would greatly appreciate an answer.
