How can I restart Service if it is killed by Android system?

Accepted answer

1. Return START_STICKY from onStartCommand(). With this, system will re-start the service which has stopped due to resources limitations.

2. When the service is not bound to any UI component (e.g an Activity), The service must go in foreground mode by showing a foreground notification. Foreground services are less likely to be terminated by system as stated in documentation of android oreo(8.0).

Okay, got it. It means I need to create non dismissable notification from Service.

Notification of foreground service can't be dismissed from notifiction bar. As long as your service running there is not any chance of dismissing notification.
