How can I get business days in a calender

Hi,

In my application, I wanted to get the date of 5th business day.

If suppose I selected a date "22/4/2013"

suppose we have a national holiday on 24/04/2005, now I would like to get the result like this: 29/04/2005.

It means it should consider week ends as holidays and it should consider Indian national holidays.

If you want to keep the time component, then a small change will be needed to the GetBusinessDay method:

static DateTime GetBusinessDay(DateTime start, int daysToAdd)
{
DateTime current = start;
int added = 0;

while (added < daysToAdd)
{
current = current.AddDays(1);
if (current.DayOfWeek != DayOfWeek.Saturday &&
current.DayOfWeek != DayOfWeek.Sunday &&
!holidays.Contains(current.Date))
{
added++;
}
}

return current;
}

Hi Vulpes,

the code does not work for the following requirements:

If i say my current date and time is: 07.05.2014 11:00 AM.
Suppose if i have holiday on 09.05.2013
I want to get exactly after 5 days, means the ouptput should be: 15.05.2013 11:00 AM.

There's nothing built into the .NET Framework which can tell you whether a given date is a national holiday in a particular locale, if that's what you were hoping.

To do this would be impractical, given that some holidays may occur on different dates each year, some dates may be holidays in some states or provinces of a given country but not others and new holidays may be invented.

There are partial third party solutions such as this toolkit but, unfortunately, it doesn't cover India:

So, the only practical approach is to build your own holiday list for the locales you're interested in.

Actually, I do not want to add holidays as Input. Is there any automatic possibility to take holidays of the country which i give?
