Hiking

Does anyone enjoy hiking?
Years ago, I had asthma. It got really bad for me. So when I began to get better I went hiking on the weekend. I began by walking up to the
Griffith Park Observatory
, which was within walking distance of where I was living then. When I was able to do that, I went hiking up the
Arroyo Seco
; the trailhead is near NASA's
JPL
. When I was able to get all the way to
Switzer's Picnic Area
and beyond I did
Strawberry Peak from the Colby Canyon
. That is the only hike I have ever done that requires a little bit of rock climbing and it can be deadly. Well I did a couple of other dangerous things but that is another story. I also did other hikes including
Echo Mountain
and
Mt. Lukens: Stone Canyon Trail
. Then I worked on getting up to Mount Wilson by way of the
Mt. Wilson Trail
. Mount Wilson is where the antennas for all television and most radio stations are at for the Los Angeles area. I saw the greatest variety of flowers on that trail. When I was able to do that, I began working on getting to the top of
Mount San Antonio (Mount Baldy)
by way of the
Bear Canyon/Baldy Village Trail
. That description says the trail is fairly strenuous but it is
very
strenuous. At the moment a very strenous hike for me would be 1,000 feet (about 300 meters?) of elevation gain.
I don't know much about India but I know it has mountains too. If Mahesh misses the big mountains of India then he can come out west here in the United States. Are there any members besides me that like to hike?
