Question

Hello,
          I Want to Know what is the difference Between VB.NET AND C#.NET . I think c# supports
unmanaged code and also managed code then why do we have to learn VB.net.If everything comes from C#.Net.
                           Can anyone answer this one plzzzz

Hi. Between C# 2.0 and VB.Net 2.0, there is a very little difference with the capabilities. The previous versions of VB did not support operator overloading nor multithreading, but in VB.Net 2.0 those are included in the language. I'm not sure if VB.Net 2.0 supports direct unmanaged code like C# does, but of course VB.Net supports unmanaged assemblies (dll's) to be used in a managed context. Many programmers prefer the VB.Net because they are used to program with visual basic family languages. The selection between C# 2.0 and VB.Net 2.0 is simply for your own taste; unmanaged code in C# is seldom if never needed, so that is not that big advantage. Some people just like VB better than C#. Some like the "natulal" look of VB.Net, some like the more graphical look of C# with its curly brackets and such. Just trust your (or your boss's) taste with the language selection. You know, you could select C++, perl, fortran, J#, eifel or Ook (and many, many more) to be your personal choice for .NET language. So having different .NET aware languages is just richness, not a burdon.
