HELP! Deadline monday! Simple database

Question

Hi, I need to make a database for monday in VB. It has to be a .dat file as we are not allowed to use access. The database has to be able to store Artist name, List of Albums, photos, artist info, then when you click on an artists album, the album cover has to show with the release date. Obviously has to be able to add artist, search, delete, edit etc. Would be very grateful if anyone can help or send me a simalar database that i could learn from or adapt. Thanks, ben.
