Happy Turkey Day!
Nov 24 2011 6:21 AM
Does everyone outside of America know what Thanksgiving Day is in America? For Americans, it is a holiday that traditionally is celebrated by eating Turkey. It is always on the last Thursday of November. It is the traditional start of the Christmas season, so in America we will now be bombarded by commercials for Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday because it is the traditional beginning of the period when stores make a profit (black indicates profit; red is loss). Oh, and Thanksgiving is for being grateful for everything; I suppose we are supposed to be grateful for all the Christmas commercials.
Yes,
It's a Wonderful Life
time of year already. I am more of an
Ebenezer Scrooge
kind of guy; I think that in real life he meant well and was misunderstood and therefore ridiculed. I think the main problem with Christmas is that people have a tendency to pressure people into having the Christmas spirit because the people applying the pressure want it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
