Gridview Column Width Changing

Question

I have a gridview. Has about 6 columns. I would like to control the width by myself. For some reason, none of the width is changing. How can I control column width by myself.

I have tried this. It did not help me. It is not changing the width of collumn:

Any help please !!!!!! I have change the Header Text. But no luck at all. I want to reduce the width of Course Request and class column ...
