Get or set scrollbar position

Question

I want to use a panel in my web page to show the result of a query that has too many lines for the page, and I want the scroll bar to default to the bottom, so the user will immediately see the last entry in the list. How can I set the position of the scrollbar? I will do it each time data is inserted in a table.
