Get current DataSource and Merge with New DataSource

Question

Hi all,

How is it possible to get context to a current datasource in a project using the api? What I am trying to do is retrieve the dataset currently in the project, merge it with a new dataset that I have created with new fields and then at the end map to my report(this part I know).
How is this possible?
