Forums Redesign

Question

We're thinking to redesign forums. There are two options - We build a new Forums product or use an existing product. I'm looking for some feedback.

 

#1. If we use an exsisting product, Have you used any forums product that is open source, scalable, and fast. 

#2. If we create a new product. Should we create a PWA? Or use one of the JS frameworks/libraries? React, Vue, and Mithril are in my list. Reason, we need front end only. Web API will provide all backend funnctionality.
