file type and size on disk

Question

i am developing a windows application like windows explorer, there in property we are getting type of file and its size on disk, how to get that in my application..
i need the type of file like text document or Bitmap Image... exactly same way as windows explorer.. and it size is different from size on disk.. which is not available in Fileinfo class
