Few Questions regarding digital marketing?

Hello guys I am an IT graduate and i finally understood i can do well in Digital marketing as my career
i have researched about digital marketing i Need a few answers from the experts in this feild
1.How booming is digital marketing in Mumbai or India
2.I m from BScIt background i m doing a course of digital marketing so do digital marketing comes in IT industry and if it doesnt do i need to have a marketing knowledge as i will learn basics but do i need to learn more than basic knowledge of marketing
3.For getting a job in Digital marketing profession should i b facing any difficulty as my background is not of marketing in cracking the interview of being from an IT industry will b an added advantage
please i need some expert advice on my regarding questions which can guide me in my career ahead
