Displaying realtime data in clients

Question

I want to develop a realtime web application. The server will read realtime udp data from a hardware device. This realtime data i want to show on web browsers. Please suggest how it can be done. I have recently read about SignalR Hub. But i am not able to use it. What should be the architecture of the application. Will it be completely a web application or a combination of web and standalone application.
