DirectX 9

Is it just me, or does the documentation for directX 9 in C# seem EXTREMEMLY LACKING?! everything i look up says it's preliminary and has a single sentace (sometimes). how in the heck is someone supposed to figure any of this stuff out without some kind of reference? am i missing something here? I downloaded the extra docs from microsoft for managed code, but it doesn't have anything in it either. Even the MSDN website is no use.
