Difference between ADDS Vs ADFS

Question

Hi all,

 

I am new to Active directory and trying to learn some concepts on it. Below is the list of my questions.

 

1) Why Active Directory if we have other methods of Authentication and Authorization.

2) Is it possible to install Active Directory in my laptop (Win10).

3) Can Active directory run on non windows machine like linux, MAC.

4 What is difference between AD DS and AD FS.
