detailsview with validation controls

Question

hi everyone! i want to know that if  wonna use a requirde field validator control with details view so that if the record is inserted using details view

and if any detail regarding to data is left intensionally or by mistake

there should a validation pops up and data should not inserted or updated

can anyone help me
