Dedicated Server hosting Win 2012 vs 2016 for ASP.NET
Sep 6 2019 12:30 PM
Hi, any one has an expert opinion on which is better dedicated hosting server to host an ASP.NET C# Framework 4.0/4.5 application please provide pro and cons
1- Does Windows 2012 R2 Standard Ed. has better performance than windows 2016 Standard Ed.?
2- Does Windows 2012 R2 Standard Ed. has better security than windows 2016 Standard Ed.?
I am about to relocate my ASP.NET C# app from Windows 2008 R2 /MSSQL 2008 R2 64bits which it has been working fine for the past 4 years just because the OS will end life soon and all I hear is, that the security will be worse, also I am afraid that once relocate my code to a higher IIS version might not work at it full and bugs will be introduced or minus changes to the code is needed.
Please advise, your opinion matters and it will be appreciated.
Thank you.
