Data bound datagrid properties

I have bound a data grid to data in a SQL database.

The problem is that the properties I set in the Column Styles collection are not working. For example, if I set READONLY to TRUE, and WIDTH to 150 for a particular column, I can still edit the cell, and the width is the table default of 75.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
