Context: Site collection deletion and Failover server

Hi All,

I am in small confusion. After deletion also the site collection will be available in content db and it can be restored.

1) Will the deleted site collection gets delete automatically from the database? Any machanism like that....

2) We are planning to have a Failover server. I will mention the Failover db name in Manage content database (by opening the content database) at Central admin web site. So, do i need to mention Failover db name in SQL server and in other APP / Webfront end web server?

Kindly provide your valuable inputs.
