Simply comments on article

As best I understand, no, an extension would be for the article, not a new article.

Apparently it can be done by anyone; anyone can add content to any article. Go to an article and around the bottom (above the "About the author" box) is "Add your contents and source code to this article". Click on that and you will get an "Add Extensions" page.

As I said, it is difficult for me to be sure what the question is.

If you have an update to an article you wrote, then you can create an extension to the article. I am not sure how that is done but I have been told it is possible. Or the article itself can be revised.

One thing you could do is to place the additional material (including any code) in a blog and then place a link to the blog in the article comments.

I think I've done that myself on at least one occasion.

What is not possible? It is not clear what you are asking.

If you are saying that it is not possible to copy text in an article comment, then it is due to spam. There has been problems with spam so the solution has been to inhibit what could be done in comments. It is unfortunate.

The web site is working on totally new software for this site. It might solve problems such as this. Don't expect any improvements in the current software.
