Cluster Computing
Jun 6 2010 1:42 AM
Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right area for this, but I couldn't find anywhere else this topic seemed to fit.
I would really like to learn about cluster computing. Specifically, I would like to learn how to build a small cluster, because of course, that would show that I truly understand it.
However, I am not interested in using a pre-built program; I would like to program one myself. Please do not rag on me about this. I've spent the last several weeks trying to find any information on how to build a small cluster, and I haven't been able to find squat, so my patience is on a thread.
I don't want to build an operating system, just have a program that will run on three separate computers, one of which will be the master, the other the slaves. Think of this program like the BOINC program. A program running on an OS will run a set of tasks given to it by the master.
So please, any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
