Citrix client not working

Question

My company has changed the way that I have to access them remotely using Citrix.  They have an existing way now that they are doing away with.  I installed the new Citrix Receiver at home and when I get the Citrix screen with the icons, nothing works, including the Remote Desktop icon.  I just get a yellow bar that flashes at the bottom of the screen that says "View Download".  My companies Citrix people cannot resolve the problem and tell me to create a new profile.  I will not do that.  Then I have to have a login at home and I had to do that on an old computer and it caused many problems.  I should be able to set up my home computer the way I want it.

Does anyone know what to do to fix this?  I have searched online and do not find anything.

I am retiring in 4 months and just want to work at home half the time they allow.
