check EMail-Accounts for new E-Mails with C#

Question

Hello,

I want to write a small winform application which checks my email accounts all few minutes. My biggest problem is: How can I connect to the email server (pop3) and check the emails? At the moment I haven't got any idea.
Where can I find something about the theme?

I use Visual Studio 2008 and .NetFramework 3.5
